When talking about vision, one thinks about the eyes. In fact, vision is the connection between the eye and the brain, a chain of processes, triggered by the light that crosses the transparent media of the eye, completing an image on the retina, which is transmitted to the brain to give us the correct view.
The treatment of amblyopia is based on this relationship between the eye and the brain. The video below explains neuroplasticity, i.e. the ability of the brain to make new connections, and the treatment of amblyopia. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of computerized orthoptical exercises and the importance of parent’s involvement in the therapy.
